In 1974, our parents purchased and started the transformation of a quaint two-story bungalow in Eugene, Oregon. By May 1975, Joseph and Donna Mocny opened the doors of Mocny's Barbecue. The restaurant was a mile away from the University of Oregon, which brought many students, coaches, and close friends. Our menu featured Cherrywood-Applewood-Hickory smoked baby back pork ribs, prime beef, chicken, ham, and sausage. Joseph then created a barbecue sauce which perfectly complemented the succulent meats.
From day one our restaurant was the talk of the town. Everybody loved the food and "that sauce." Many people began to inquire about our sauce, and showed interest in purchasing it. Joseph and Donna regret not bottling and selling it at the restaurant during that time.
NOW… "the sons" are ready to share the sauce with the world.
We do use "that sauce" on everything!
